Harvest Moon Farm & Orchard is a family owned and operated apple orchard located in North Salem, NY, in Westchester County. Primarily an orchard, our main harvest is, of course, apples!
We also grow a variety of vegetables and stone fruits available for purchase in our Farm Store and through our robust and continually expanding CSA program.
Here at Harvest Moon, our primary goal is to supply our community with the freshest foods possible, primarily sourced from our own Farm and other, local, Hudson-valley farmers. Further, we also strive to offer our community a fun, family-oriented and upbeat atmosphere for all to enjoy!
Not just a fruit and vegetable farm, we also stock our store with farm-raised meats that include chicken, duck, lamb, pork and our own 100% grass fed beef and our own pasture-raised turkeys.
We produce and sell our very own hard cider (Hardscrabble Cider), our own farm fresh free-range eggs, and local honey, dairy cheese, maple syrup and other country store items. From the bakery you can expect our famous apple cider donuts made fresh EVERY DAY, fruit pies and specialty pastries.
From our kitchen you can indulge in a mouth-watering bacon egg and cheese sandwich as well as other slow-food dishes made from ingredients grown right on the farm. Grab a spot in our outdoor seating area while enjoying fresh food, sweet or hard cider, overlooking our Farm!
Harvest Moon also hosts a wealth of big season events – our annual Easter Egg Hunt, our Hardscrabble Cider Live Music and Pizza nights, several PYO events throughout the growing season, and of course our much loved Apple Picking weekends that take place in September and October.
We also offer a robust 13- or 18-week
Summer/Fall CSA program that can be tailored to include up to five exciting add-ons. Sign ups open annually in February and share distribution commences each July.

Our Farm Store is open seven days a week, April through Christmas.
Our Practices
Vegetables on our farm are grown using Integrated Pest Management (IPM). This means whenever possible, we use organic fertilizers and pest controls. We also plant and harvest all of our vegetables and fruit by hand.
We use ecologically and environmentally conscious techniques for maintaining fruit crops on our farm. Due to the Northeastern US climate, the apple varieties we grow at our orchard are extremely susceptible to pests, fungi, and other detrimental diseases. These naturally occurring nuisances could cause total devastation if left untreated. For this reason, we do spray our apple trees, but we use the most environmentally conscious sprays available while still protecting our orchard from ruin.
We Offer Private Events
We offer a unique, outdoor venue on our 65 acre Farm! Guests can enjoy the use of our outdoor bar, covered patio and country-style picnic tables. We accept bookings for the months of April through August, after that time we are unable to schedule any events due to our apple picking season.
