We are so exited to offer five NEW add ons this year!
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs allow consumers the opportunity to purchase fresh, local produce by providing the means to develop direct relationships with local farmers. CSAs are mutually beneficial for both parties. By paying in advance of the growing season, CSA programs support farmers by providing much-needed funds to cover the up-front costs associated with raising food.
Consumers benefit by receiving a weekly box of the freshest crops possible; produce is harvested at its peak, resulting in a diverse offering of food unparalleled in freshness and nutrition. Many consumers enjoy the surprise of new and never-before tasted foods, since it is not uncommon to receive fruits and vegetables one may never have cooked or encountered before, so joining a CSA requires a bit of adventure and creativity!
As a Harvest Moon CSA member, you will receive a weekly bounty of farm fresh produce beginning in July and running through October. The offerings will vary week to week, depending upon availability. We send a weekly email to members listing the probable contents of each weekly share.
Some examples of items found in an early July, half share box could include carrots, lettuce, spinach, bok choy, kale, radishes, garlic and eggs.
We offer two shares sizes to choose from and whichever you select is entirely based on your personal needs. A half bushel box/share generally feeds a family of four. Our full bushel box/share feeds a family of approximately six people. Of course, the size you choose ultimately depends on your lifestyle and eating habits, and your love for produce!
13 Week Season: July 3rd thru September 25th
18 Week Season: July 3rd thru October 30th
Pick up day is every Thursday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Members agree to pick up their box each week at our Farm Store within the pickup time window.
NEW! We are delighted about our recent partnership with Brewster Pastry, a local favorite located in Brewster, NY. This family-owned bakery has been the go-to destination for pastry aficionados and bread lovers alike for nearly two delicious decades!
As a CSA member, you’ll have the option to choose from their classic plain sourdough or a weekly rotation of different sourdough varieties.
The Harvest Moon add-on cheese share features cheeses that hail from all over New York’s Hudson Valley. Members will receive a different type of cheese every week and will be able to sample a delicious assortment of textures and flavors, all crafted from cow, goat or sheep’s milk.
Members will receive one package of cheese each week.
NEW! We are so excited to offer Battenkill Valley Creamery’s premium-quality dairy products!
Battenkill guarantees their products are the freshest possible, with their milk going from “cow to bottle” in less than eight hours in their own facilities right on their family farm in NY.
CSA members can choose from a variety of milk products bottled in either glass and plastic.
We raise our own prize herd of Red Devon cattle on our 1,200 acre, sister farm located 60 miles upstate in Hillsdale, NY. This hearty, ancient breed of cattle are remarkably resilient, great at grass-based production and lead to high-quality, great tasting beef.
Our 100% grass-fed, antibiotic-free and hormone-free cattle are raised entirely outdoors and roam freely over hundreds of acres of wide open pasture. Each week, members will receive a one pound package of ground beef.
NEW! Fresh on the scene, we’re thrilled to introduce the highest-quality fungi in the region, grown locally right here in the Hudson Valley by Westchester Mushroom Co. of Peekskill, NY.
This share features a rotating selection of gourmet mushrooms including oyster, lion’s mane, chestnut, and pioppino. These varieties will bring their own distinct flavor and texture to your kitchen! Each week, members will receive one 8 oz bag.
NEW! We are proud to announce our first-ever CSA collaboration with our on-site cidery, Hardscrabble Cider! All stages of the hard cider process take place right here on our Farm!
The craft beer varieties in this share are sourced from a number of excellent, small-batch breweries located throughout Hudson Valley and New York state. Cider and beer flavors will rotate weekly; members will receive one four-pack, split between hard cider and beer.
NEW! We simply love Irving Farm’s coffee – they provide the very same beans that make up each cup of delicious coffee and espresso served in our own Farm Cafe!
Located in Millerton, NY, they source all of their coffee from small producers and hand-select freshly harvested lots. Each week, members will receive one 300g bag of whole bean coffee: 71 House, their medium house blend or Gotham, their stand-out dark roast.
We are pleased to offer a truly local farm share from Wild Iris Flower Farm, a local boutique flower farm based right here in North Salem, NY.
Growers of specialty heirloom and seasonal cut flowers, this special add-on includes a weekly, gorgeous bouquet hand-crafted with an assortment of seasonal, locally-grown and hard to find flower varieties.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
